About Woom

Bikes and balance bikes for children from toddler age through to early teens, sized and engineered around a child's proportions. Parents buying a first bike, or replacing one a child has outgrown, are the core customer.

Sizing is organised by wheel size: 12-inch balance bikes, then bikes at 14, 16, 20, 24 and 26 inches, with a self-balancing model aimed at the youngest riders alongside the standard balance bike line. A bike finder and a comparison tool on the site help match a child's height to the right size and model. Kids' helmets are sold alongside the bikes, plus accessories and spare parts, including a limited-edition neon colourway and a seasonal red finish on the self-balancing model.

Weight is the stated point of difference: woom bikes average around 40% lighter than standard children's bikes, which matters for a small child lifting, turning or setting off alone. The company was founded in a Vienna garage in 2013 by Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, both with young children of their own, and around 90% of the components fitted are built specifically for children rather than carried over from adult parts bins.

Questions about Woom

How long does woom delivery take to the UK?

Standard UK delivery takes five to seven working days. Shipping is free on orders over £99, and orders under that threshold cost £5.

How do I return a woom order?

woom allows returns within 30 days of purchase. The returns policy is listed separately from the standard delivery information on the site.

What does the woom 10-year warranty cover and how do I claim it?

The warranty extends to 10 years but only applies to new, unregistered woom bikes, and claiming it requires joining woom Riders to register the bike. Members get what the site calls swift and simple communication concerning any warranty claim.

Can I change the delivery address on an existing woom order?

No, once an order is placed and in process the delivery address cannot be edited for logistical reasons. Any address changes made in a woom Riders profile only apply to future orders, not ones already underway.

Does woom ship to the Channel Islands and are there extra charges?

Orders shipped to the Channel Islands from the UK are treated as exports and imports, which means the recipient is responsible for any import paperwork and local taxes or duties. Shipping costs to islands can also vary from the standard rate.
