Gastrus

Gastrus is BioGaia's dual-strain probiotic tablet for adults, combining Limosilactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 with the strain ATCC PTA 6475, both patented and studied in clinical trials. It forms part of the adult range within BioGaia's wider probiotic collection, taken as a daily tablet regardless of food intake.

The two strains are studied for different effects, reflecting BioGaia's broader position that probiotic strains within the same species can behave differently, so products need to be defined and dosed at strain level. Gastrus is intended for regular daily use, since L. reuteri does not remain permanently established in the gut and needs topping up to maintain stable levels.
