Shorefield Holidays
South Coast holiday parks for caravan, lodge and camping breaks
Last updated on 7th September 2026
About Shorefield Holidays
Family-run holiday parks across Hampshire and Dorset offering everything from weekend caravan breaks to permanent holiday home ownership, aimed at families, couples and groups holidaying on the South Coast within reach of the New Forest and the Jurassic Coast.
Accommodation spans seven holiday parks, among them Shorefield Country Park and Lytton Lawn Touring Park at Milford-on-Sea, Oakdene Forest Park and Forest Edge Holiday Park near Ringwood, Swanage Coastal Park, and Wilksworth Caravan Park and Merley Court in Wimborne. Guests choose from modern caravans, lodges (some with hot tubs), houses and cottages, treehouses, shepherd's huts and glamping or touring pitches for tents, motorhomes and trailer tents. Merley Court has also added a residential park home development for those wanting a permanent base rather than a holiday let. For buyers rather than renters, holiday home ownership is available across the parks, alongside pet-friendly options charged by the night.
Shorefield Holidays began in 1958, when Dr Robert Pollock bought a small caravan park beside a worked-out gravel pit at Milford-on-Sea after struggling to find anywhere to pitch his own holiday caravan. It has remained family-run since, with Pollock's children, now directors, having joined the business in the 1970s. The company still operates its parks directly rather than through a franchise model, covering accommodation, on-park entertainment and ownership sales itself.

Questions about Shorefield Holidays
How much deposit do I need to pay when booking with Shorefield Holidays?
The deposit depends on the type of holiday you book, ranging from a minimum of £50 for weekly or weekend breaks to £7 for camping and touring pitches, or 20% of the total cost if that is greater. The balance is then due four weeks before your holiday starts, or immediately if you book within four weeks of arrival.
What refund do I get if I cancel my Shorefield Holidays booking?
If you cancel 8 weeks or more before your holiday starts you get 75% of payments made refunded, less your deposit. Cancelling closer to the start date reduces the refund further, down to no refund if you cancel less than a week before arrival.
Can I change my Shorefield Holidays booking after it's confirmed?
Minor changes, such as amending a party member's name, are made free of charge, but major changes such as altering dates or accommodation standard incur a £25 administration fee plus any price difference. Changes made within 8 weeks of arrival may be subject to further restrictions.
What payment methods can I use to book with Shorefield Holidays?
Shorefield accepts credit or debit card, bank transfer, or cheque or postal order for holiday bookings. The credit card holder used for the booking must be present when making payments at the park, as third-party cards are not accepted.
What happens if Shorefield changes the terms after I book?
If Shorefield makes significant changes to its terms and conditions after a booking request that materially and adversely affect the booking, guests are given the option to cancel and receive a full refund. This protects guests if policies change to their disadvantage between booking and arrival.

Alternatives to Shorefield Holidays - Travel & Holidays market
- Haven Runs far more parks across the whole UK coastline, with bigger kids' clubs and entertainment but a less independent, more corporate feel.
- Parkdean Resorts The UK's largest holiday park operator, offering more locations nationwide at often lower prices but with a more standardised, less personal experience.
- Forest Holidays Specialises in cabins set deeper into forest woodland away from other guests, at a higher price point than caravan or lodge parks.
- Sandy Balls Holiday Village A single independent New Forest park rather than a group of several, suited to those wanting one long-established site to return to.
- Away Resorts Another family-run operator with a similar mix of caravans and lodges, but with parks spread further afield beyond the South Coast.
- Center Parcs Forest village breaks with extensive indoor activities and a spa, at a notably higher price and without the option to buy a holiday home.
