Coravin Pivot

Pivot works differently from the needle-based Timeless systems: the original closure is removed with a corkscrew and swapped for a specially designed Pivot Stopper fitted with a Wine Tube. Because the closure itself is replaced rather than pierced, Pivot works on any bottle type, cork, synthetic, screwcap or glass. Argon gas is pushed through the stopper and displaces the air inside. Oxygen never reaches the remaining wine.

Pivot is rated to preserve wine for up to four weeks rather than the months or years claimed for Timeless, which suits a drinker after a shorter-term fix rather than long-term storage. No needle is needed, so there is nothing to thread through a cork, and the stopper can be left in place between pours with the bottle stored upright or on its side.
