Day trip to Alderney

This excursion flight carries up to three passengers from Cardiff Airport to Alderney in a Piper PA28 Arrow, flown by a private pilot who shares the cost of the trip rather than charging commercially. The route crosses the Severn towards Minehead, tracks over Exmoor and Exmouth, then heads out across the Channel to the island, with a total flight time of around two hours twenty minutes each way included in the day.

Passengers get at least a couple of hours on the ground in Alderney, including time for duty-free shopping, before flying the same route home. It only runs from April to October and depends on suitable weather, since it is conducted under Visual Flight Rules, so timings are arranged directly with the pilot beforehand.
